Shirakawa-go is the largest of the three villages designed as UNESCO World Heritage sites in JapanThis villages are well known for their houses constructed in the architectural style known as gasshō-zukuri . The Gasshō-zukuri, "prayer-hands construction" style is characterized by a thatched and steeply slanting roof resembling two hands joined in prayer. These Gassho-zukuri houses are quite amazing structures, designed to withstand the harsh winters while providing a place to work and live, and are best seen either covered in snow or surrounded by green fields. *The fare includes the transportation round trip from venue to attractions, attraction ticket, and lunch

*Set menu lunch would be provided during this trip, if you are a vegetarian, please must inform conference secretary after payment process.

Reservation and Payment Deadline

January 30, 2017


1. The schedule and itinerary may be changed due to unpredictable factors such as traffic and weather.

2. The maximum of this tour is 40 people. The reservations are arranged on a first come first served basis, no onsite reservations and changes are acceptable.

3. The reservation will be automatically cancelled if no payment is received by January 30, 2017.

4. A minimum of 23 people is required to operate a tour. If the minimum is not reached, the tour will be cancelled and a noticed with method of refund will be sent to the registrants from January 31, 2017.

5. If participants cancel the reservation for personal reasons, the cancelation charge will be applied as below:

   --Before January 30, 2017: 50% refund

   --From January 31, 2017: Nonrefundable

Important Information

1.   This tour is recommended to participants over 6-year-old due to long travel time.

2.   We recommend you to wear the casual clothes and comfortable shoes

3.   If the attraction is invisible due to weather conditions, the tour will not be canceled and fees will not be refunded.

4.   Participants should follow the tour guide’s instructions; HEF and the tour guide are not responsible for participants’ leave without notice and personal activities.

5.   The tour bus will not wait for any personal excuse.
